Associations, student and veterans' chess 5

Zagreb is the seat of the Croatian Chess Federation, at Trg Krešimira Ćosića, which keeps the national member register and the competition calendar. The Zagreb Chess Association at Masarykova 22 is the umbrella body of the city's clubs: it keeps their league list, organises the Zagreb Open, the Udovčić memorial, the youth championships and a series of numbered rapid tournaments, and its rooms are open from Monday to Thursday evening. The Zagreb County Chess Association, with its seat in Samobor, runs the county championships from cadets to veterans.

Two groups play outside the club system: the chess section of FER, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, which gathers students weekly and co-organised a charity blitz at Unska 3, and an association of Croatian war veterans that holds Christmas and Easter tournaments.
